Tiina Koivusalo (born 1981) is an artist, art educator and designer living in Helsinki. Koivusalo’s artworks are large-scale digital collages, laser-cutted furniture and textile objects. She is interested in the natural world and environments. Her abstract, neutral-toned digital collages play with different materials. In the past exhibition ‘Muoto–Lögun’ she used photographs of mountains, seaweed, liches and rocks from Iceland and Finnish Archipelago. In the pieces the photographic nature is no longer obvious. Currently she is finishing her MA-studies in Art Education at Aalto University School of Art and Design. She is also Master of Arts in graphic design (Aalto University, 2013) and she has also studied at Rhode Island School of Design (USA), majoring in illustration. Her strong graphic design background is visible in her works. She runs her own studio in Helsinki. She works independently but also collaborates with fellow creatives. She has also worked with sustainable projects in the past years; promoting cycling in Helsinki and raising awareness of water consumption.
